The Dream Crochet Fall 2025 Inspirations

Fall is here! Every season, I try to get better at transitioning into new styles, and I think I’ve improved on that front. As the time gets nearer, I start thinking about what colors and styles I want to do, just to get a head start, so that I’m not caught by surprise. Of all the seasons, Fall is probably my favorite, so I look forward to it the most. I have some key inspirations that I’m implementing into my personal style and into The Dream Crochet.

Whimsy goth is something new...and old that has really captured my interest. I've always loved goth aesthetics and have incorporated them, but whimsy goth takes it to the next level. It's a blend between two of my favorite styles, the dark and mystical elements of goth, with the whimsical and free-spiritedness of the Bohemian style. Stevie Nicks comes to mind when I think of this style, and with style icons Wednesday Addams and Elphaba from Wicked holding down the fort, goth is here to stay.

Cottagecore is another style that I continue to wear and update every time. I feel a real connection between the clothes I wear and what I’m about. This style reminds me of simpler times and doesn’t feel overdone. It’s traditional, simple, and romanticizes nature, so I use floral and leaf designs on my garments and accessories. It’s also fun to blend it with more modern styles for a fresh perspective.

As for colors, I’ve really been into muted colors and earthy greens lately. Browns, burgundies, yellows, warm oranges, and oranges. I'd also like to add a pop of color with candy pink and cherry reds. Mixing and matching these colors is a fun style experiment.

In general, Gilmore Girls inspo is a constant point of reference I always return to. Rory’s Chilton look has New England academia vibes that I wear every year, and I update it with dark academia concepts (this blends with the aforementioned whimsy goth aesthetic). And Lorelai Gilmore’s graphic tees are easy, ready-to-wear staples that I rock with.

The fun part is figuring out how to put my stamp on all these concepts. I’ve got even more ideas for Fall 2025, and I’m excited to share them!
