My Favorite Granny Square Designs of Summer 2025

Granny Square Day inspired me to look through my granny square designs, and it reminded me how much I adore them. For some reason or another, I can never get tired of this pattern. I think part of the reason is that they’re more versatile than some might assume. They can be subtle or bold, colorful or muted, and they work for clothes and accessories. This design stands the test of time!
These are my first ever- handmade granny square crochet pants!
This thrifted denim top was one of the first upcycled projects that I created. I used granny squares for the pockets and although it's understated, it's still very impactful. I paired it with crochet drawstring shorts that had matching colors and it creates a mirror-like effect.

My favorite flowers are sunflowers, so I decided to pay tribute to them by using the colors green, yellow, &orange, to replicate the look of them with this crochet tank top. The visual effect works really well works, and the beaded straps are complementary. The matching tote bag brings it all together!

I love this crochet top so much! The granny square pattern covers the entire front of the shirt, inviting you to view it in a new light. It's designed with a boat neck sleeveless top, which gives it a square structure, and it's oh so stylish.
All in all, this is my favorite part of year where granny squares have the spotlight directly on them. It’s so interesting to look back & realize how many makes were created using this amazing design. Cannot wait for next year, to learn more & grow with each & every row!
