Sophistication Dreamwear Upcycles Summer 2026
One of my favorite things about Sophistication Dreamwear, is the wearability and just how easy-to-wear these pieces are. The simplicity of them makes upcycling so much fun because I get to accentuate what makes them special in particular ways. When I go to do an upcycle style I've done before, it feels fresh because I'm using a different part of my brain, and that keeps me sharp.
I really wanted to make a Dream Duos jean jacket, because even though it's getting warmer, nights can still get chilly. I dislike being cold, so I decided to upcycle this light denim jacket with pink granny square sleeves. This was a past granny square project, but it feels so new, and I know I'll get a lot of wear out of this.
I love this skirt so much! The skirt was a double upcycle, which made the process even more dramatic. I frogged out the other yarn and cut a mini skirt, then cut the denim again, and started it over again for this new version. The dramatic length is a nice contrast to the softness of the palette. This project was such a beautiful transformation, and the final result brought me so much joy.
This was the skirt before, I decided to increase the length!
A well-placed design choice can have a huge impact. These Bermuda jean shorts were fine as they were, but adding granny square panels elevates them. The original shirts were a little too tight, so adding some room was for comfort as well.
This skirt was upcycled from a pair of pants, and this skirt is so wearable. I used solid tan yarn, which reminds me of khaki and contrasts with a dynamic contrast. These skirts are my personal favorite to make. I cut the denim at a slant so it’s asymmetrical for an even more stylish flair.
These upcycled Sophistication Dreamwear styles are exciting, and I’m only just getting started! I’d like to experiment more with tops that are cool for the summer and accessories, too.
Another upcycled denim/crochet dress in the making.
